Sudbury & Wembley Dementia Carers Support Groups
The attached Poster confirms when the Sudbury & Wembley Dementia Carers Support Groups will meet for the remainder of the year. You can also view the attached online at the following link: New Meeting Dates.
The Groups are specifically for family carers (and other unpaid carers) who support a family member, friend, etc. living with dementia. They were set up by an initial group of family carers who met via the former Brent Admiral Nurse service in 2010, and the generosity of the churches involved who provide the accommodation.
Their main purpose is to provide a safe space where family carers can come together and talk openly about their experiences, learn more about dementia, share ideas and tips (incl. coping strategies) with each other in a confidential environment (without any fear of discrimination and judgment), and also have a short break from their stressful lives. This is why the groups are for unpaid carers only.
No referral is required to attend the meetings. You can find out more information about the groups and the information and advice we make available at our Online Library.
